How do hair transplants work?
In hair transplantation the patient is both the donor and recipient. Your own donor hair is removed in a single strip from the back of the head where the hair is genetically programmed not to fall out. This strip is microscopically dissected into individual hair follicles. These hair follicles are then placed into the balding thinning area. Today, hair transplantation is the only permanent solution for hair loss.

What are the causes of hair loss?
There are many causes for hair loss in men and women. The most common is genetic in which certain areas of the head are susceptible to increased levels of DHT leading to greater loss of hair particularly in men. Other causes can be attributed to medical diseases such as thyroid disease, lupus and anemia. Hair loss may be experienced as a result of other cosmetic surgeries, hair styles and grooming practices, stress and crash diets. If you’re suffering from hair loss seek out an expert who specializes only in hair and can diagnosis your condition and treat it with surgical and non-surgical options to stop or even reverse your loss.
