Ziering Medical lifts all barriers to hair transplantation procedures!

The most common barriers that keep a personal from moving forward with a hair transplant/restoration procedure are: Denial, Fear of Pain, Fear of Unnatural Looking Result, and Anticipated Cost.

Denial:  Being a country girl from West Virginia, I'm not the most politically correct physician in our group- which at times has my colleagues and marketing director wince at the thought of what might I might say next. But most people appreciate my honesty- so if the kettle is black, I call it black.  If you are bald- I'll call you bald, or maybe follicularly challenged. Trust me when I tell you those three hairs that you see in your front hairline- or what once used to be your hairline- are not really giving you the sort of coverage you think they are. And the comb over that some of you men have going on really looks worse than just being bald. So get rid of that hairy mirror you've been looking through for the past several years and really see yourself for what you are- thinning or maybe even totally bald. But guys It's OK- Ziering Medical is here to help. We can give you back that hair you might be thinking you still have.

Fear of Pain: Procedures done at Ziering Medical produce very little pain. I tell my patients that going to the dentist is more painful that having a hair transplant/restoration procedure performed by me. And recently one of my patients was a dentist and he held me to my word. It is done under local anesthesia and is very tolerable. After the procedure, the recipient area isn't painful at all because all of the work is incisional without any tissue being removed. The donor area my produce a mild tight feeling for the first three to four days since tissue was removed and pulled back together with sutures. My own father didn't take anything stronger than an extra-strength Tylenol, and I've had patients who had large sessions up to 3000 or more grafts not take any pain medication. Every person has a different pain threshold, but the majority of patients experience very little discomfort.

Fear of an Unnatural Result: I've discussed this fear on another blog. FEAR NOT. Ziering Medical will give you the most natural looking result possible with today's state-of-the-art Microscopic Follicular Unit Grafting techniques. Just visit our before and after pictures which speak for themselves. We also have lists of patients that are willing to talk to anyone who would like to ask them questions about how their procedure went and what kind of results they received. It doesn't get any better than Ziering Medical for today's hair transplant/restoration procedures.

Anticipated Cost: This is an elective, cosmetic procedure, but it is one that is comparable in cost with other cosmetic procedures in the industry such as tummy tucks, nose jobs and breast augmentation. The cost varies from patient to patient based on the number of grafts that one needs to accomplish their desired goal. And we offer several different financing options to give our patients alternative payment methods.

So with all of those barriers now lifted call Ziering Medical for your FREE consultation today- you will be glad you did!

All Hair Transplants Are Not Created Equal!

Just because one hangs a sign on their door stating that they offer the service of hair transplantation does not make them a specialist. What makes a hair transplant specialist is a physician/surgeon who solely practices in the area of surgical hair restoration. Think about it- if you were going to have wrist surgery performed you would go to an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hands, you wouldn't go to a general orthopedist who primarily does knees and shoulders with the occasional hand surgery every once in a while.  Then why would you go to a physician whose primary surgeries are other cosmetic procedures with hair transplantation being offered as only one of the many procedures that they do?  If you want the job done right you go to a hair transplant specialist.

Ziering Medical specializes only in medical and surgical hair restoration. We perform hair restoration procedures 6 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. Our surgeons and surgical staff are the most experienced at what they do, and they are dedicated solely to the art of hair restoration to provide you with the most natural looking result possible.

30% of the work done at Ziering Medical is categorized as corrective- meaning that patients come to us looking to fix other hair transplanted work that did not meet their expectations. Don't become a part of that 30% corrective category that we see on a daily basis. Have your procedure done right the first time- by the Hair Restoration Specialists at Ziering Medical.  Medical and surgical hair restoration is all that we do and we do it right!

Come in today for your FREE consultation by one of our Ziering Medical surgeons. Together you can individualize a treatment plan that will best suit your hair loss/thinning needs- whether that be medical, surgical or both. Call today- you will be glad you did! 1-800-642-9942

[Re] Building Bridges

Of no great surprise given my Minneapolis roots,   the subject of bridges has been on my mind quite a lot lately...

How many instances in life do we literally and figuratively deal with bridges - structures that span ideas and cultures as well as spaces and, in the case of evolving hair loss frequently persist as the only connection between two regions that were once one.

Carrying this hair analogy one step further, I find it interesting that fortifying this  'connection zone' across the top of a gentleman's head has the capability to strengthen his convictions about himself and allow one who has become somewhat lost in his quest continue to forge ahead along life's roadways with renewed confidence and a restored sense of fortitude. All because of a rebuilt bridge.

Amazing what a modest amount of relocated hair can do for a broken spirit.

I think them quite important  - life's bridges. Let us try to remember not to be so quick to destroy that which connects us to other places and people.  As once so poignantly put by the British poet John Donne "No man is an island ...entire of itself; everyman is a piece of the continent". We are so much more capable and admirable than I.   And today,  400 plus years later our bridges have the capability to span even continents and provide further global linkage between beings which inhabit this one place, this garden of life.

I am quite sure that this is our destiny then - should we seek to survive much less flourish on this spaceship earth - this notion of a united people living and working together for the betterment of all - bridging differences and in so doing cementing our planet's future.

Our potential when applied positively in unison rather than destructively in devisiveness will be nothing short of astonishing.

The time is now my brothers and sisters ... Let's rebuild that bridge and get over it - together.

Megasessions

The hair restoration/transplant procedures of today are being coined "megasessions" since a relatively large number of grafts are being harvested and transplanted in a single session in comparison to years past.  Ziering Medical does perform these "megasessions" if the patient needs a large number of grafts, and if the donor availability is adequate to allow us to harvest these larger numbers.  The average procedure being performed at Ziering Medical today is approximately 2200 grafts in a single sessions. We commonly do procedure as large as 3500-4000+ grafts in a single session. Procedures in the past were done in a sort of a "piece meal" method grafting 500-1000 grafts in a single session which led the patient down a path of having to have multiple procedures in order to achieve the density they desired. Ziering Medical patients often receive their desired density with only one procedure.

One argument against megasessions by those who don't perform them is that the blood supply of the scalp isn't adequate enough to support large numbers of grafts.  This just simply isn't the case with today's technology. Ziering Medical solely performs microscopic follicular unit grafting where the recipient area only receives an incisional slit for the grafts/follicles to be inserted. There is no removal of any recipient site tissue during this process.  This allows for a larger number of grafts/follicles to be placed very close together without compromise of vascular support.

So rest assured that you can have a large "megasession" performed without any vascular compromise and we at Ziering Medical would love to be the team to artistically execute your hair restoration procedure.  Please call us today at 1-800-642-9942 to set up your FREE consultation today- You will be glad you did!. We are eager and glad to answer any questions or concerns that you might have.

Illusions of Grandeur

Though it becomes more difficult to suspend disbelief as one gains knowledge and awareness throughout life,  I think most all of us still enjoy a feat of magic that is well performed despite knowing full well that slight of hand or optics were involved in creating the effect.

Frequently in the setting of hair loss,  we the affected attempt to become the magician ourselves and through our often amateurish efforts attempt to minimize the appearance of our loss - as exemplified by the various renditions of the comb-over.  Unfortunately the stakes are often greater than a 'discovered' card trick - particularly in matters of relationships,   where at least initial impressions are based in large part on appearances  or  the workplace where it has been shown that a relative absence of hair has a detrimental effect on promotion or hiring.  Unfair perhaps but seemingly almost an innate sensibility within our species.

So it is with some relish that we the experienced architects of surgical hair restoration go about our business of creating the illusion of more hair through the utilization of a finite reserve of donor hair. Fortunately we have learned through experience how to artistically arrange the transplanted hair so as to create a maximal impact.  The feat is not trivial in its impact on the recipient's sense of well being.

Making   'a little go a long way'  is one distinguishing attribute of the great hair transplant surgeon which separates he or she from the pack. The novice in the field of surgical hair restoration arrives on the scene entirely lacking the perspective of how to situate hair so as to optimize its performance and so the unsuspecting come away unsatisfied or worse yet become disillusioned about the potential of hair restoration which can and should be a very positive investment in one's self.

Again the take home message here highlights the importance of the role of research in terms of selecting a provider worthy of the trust you impart them with to improve your appearance.  This is the value we at Ziering speak of when differentiating ourselves from other entities which on the surface offer the same service.

Be careful what you wish for when you choose us because you might just get it !

Proof of Performance

In many instances in life  e.g.  a new business venture's chance of success  -   an investment's likelihood of a positive return on venture capital   -  the percentage chance of an applicant gaining acceptance into a prestigious program - odds of success rated as a " 50:50 proposition "  leave an investor or applicant feeling fairly confident that the outcome will end up favorably for them.  After all, not many of life's chance events have anywhere near this percentage of positive outcome associated with them.

Fortunately for the recipients of hair transplantation outcomes have not a mere even chance of succeeding but actually a well documented near 100 % success rating as measured by the yardstick of verification of graft survival both short term and long term studies.

So the 'surface' objective of translocating a hair that will survive and grow is not a difficult one to achieve.  What additionally impact the success or failure of the undertaking  - as viewed by the patient once the result is apparent   -  has everything to do with the subtleties and nuances of the procedure's execution by the architect and designer  - the hair transplant surgeon - and his or her team of allied health professionals that perform  much of the pure labor aspects of the procedure.

The variables within these less obvious and visible aspects of a hair restoration practice are both significant  - given their impact on the result  - and difficult for the prospective patient to ascertain without probing for  'proof of performance' .

The good news is that all of us who practice at the top of the leader board will be forthcoming in sharing our outcomes with individuals unfamiliar with the standard of work provided by the practice;  both by displays of real outcomes and further by allowing the prospective candidate direct contact with patients who are willing to provide uncompensated feedback to those seeking confirmation of result excellence as measured by the paying customer.

The take away here ......   Be assertive in stating your wants and needs and ask the tough questions when we are evaluating each other. By doing these simple things your chance of emerging from the experience satisfied with your appearance and your investment begin to approach the numbers we can document in our graft survival studies  - and that's exactly the place we want you to be and the reason we hone our skills on a continuous basis - to provide you with the best available anywhere at any price.
